| It
is a pure aromatic hydrocarbon compound having fixed boiling point, unlike other
petroleum products, which are mixtures of hydrocarbon compounds. Benzene is slightly
soluble in water. Being a pure hydrocarbon it exhibits characteristic solidification
or crystallisation point. It is used primarily as a chemical raw material in the
synthesis of styrene (polystyrene plastics and synthetic rubber), phenol (phenolic
resins), cyclohexane (nylon), aniline maleic anhydride (polyester resins), alkyl
benzenes (detergents), chloro-benzenes and other products used in the production
of drugs, dyes, insecticides and plastics. Our product conforms to IS:534-1992
specification. Sometimes to indicate the purity of the product refractive index
is also mentioned. |
